The Newborn Session

This in-home session is 2 hours long, but I promise the time will fly by. Your shoot time allows for flexibility to take breaks when needed, without missing out on shots or time. I completely understand that your newborn needs to be fed, changed, or simply held, and allow for all the time you need. Above all else, I go with your flow. I will work seamlessly around you and we will flow into whatever feels right in the moment. Newborn life can be challenging, but I guarantee that I will capture solo portraits of your newborn and lifestyle portraits of the entire family; I never leave a Newborn Session without these.

The process
Working Together
Get in touch.
Fill out the contact form with as much detail as you can. From there, we will choose an available date and review pricing.
Book your session.
Once we have discussed the Collections and agreed on an ideal shoot date, you will receive a secure link to submit the $250 session fee, sign the portrait contract, and fill out a detailed questionnaire about your goals for our upcoming session.

Once your session is booked, I will review your questionnaire responses and send you my Newborn Prep Guide. We then schedule a pre-session phone call to go over the specifics.
Time to shoot.
Above all else, I go with your flow. Your shoot time allows for flexibility to take breaks when needed, without missing out on shots or time.The more relaxed and comfortable, the better.
The slideshow.
Three weeks after your shoot day, you will receive a private link to a custom slideshow of all the edited images from your session, which is available for
24-hours. Once you have seen the imagery you can decide which Collection you want to purchase. Every collection, from the smallest to the largest, includes credit for you to apply in the online store!
Make it last.
In this digital age that we live in, I urge you to think beyond social media platforms when displaying your photos. These beauties are an investment in lifelong memories that deserve to be framed! Use your print credit in my online store on a variety of lab-quality photo products.
Session Fee
The session fee covers my shooting time, and reserves your shoot date and time. This fee does not cover the post-work and the digital files in your Collection.
Print Credit
Your gallery is linked to an easy-to-use online print shop. The shop is filled with a variety of lab-quality photo products for you to choose from, such as matted and framed prints, calendars, and greeting cards.
Collections
A Collection is the package you select and purchase after you have seen all of the imagery. Each package includes a quantity of high-res images and a substantial credit to use in my online print shop.
Retouching
I use subtle retouching to balance skin tone, remove blemishes, whiten teeth, and generally clean up the images. I strive to make every slight tweak look natural and unnoticeable.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are your Covid precautions?
I shoot wearing a mask and will wash my hands throughout our session. Rapid tests taken by request; testing fees apply.
When should I schedule my session?
The ideal time for a Newborn Session is at two to six weeks of age. If six weeks have passed in the blink of an eye, don’t fret, we can still accommodate
a newborn session.
Can we shoot outdoors as well?
Weather permitting, we can absolutely shoot outdoors. Please note that the location must be within walking distance of your home.
What should we wear?
Style is extremely personal and varies with each family. Your Prep Guide will provide suggestions on how to plan a wardrobe that will suit your shoot. Your baby should be dressed in what they would wear daily; formal or grown-up looks tend to take away from the reality and beauty of the time I am capturing.
What do I need for baby?
Every inch of your home is packed with personality. The choice of decor, furniture, layout - it’s all an extension of you and the home you have created for
your family. We will use items from your home to create the distinctive feel that is unique to you and your baby. I suggest pulling sentimental items such as swaddles, throw blankets, and cherished heirlooms. This is a lifestyle session and will reflect the style of your life.
Can I have all the images?
All edited images in your personal slideshow are yours to keep, however, I do not release RAW files.
